Job Overview

The Digital Account Director role reports to the SVP of Digital Revenue and is part of the Future Media Group’s digital team. This person should have deep relationships with brands and agencies focused on the luxury, fashion, design, and accessories categories as well as with brands non-endemic to these categories. The right candidate will have in-depth knowledge of selling in programmatic, audience, social and video environments. This role will have a digital-only sales goal as well as a sales goal that has to be achieved by supporting the cross-channel integrated sales team on campaigns that include digital.

The Director of Social Media is a critical member of the Audience Development team and will be responsible for the social media strategy across FMG’s brand portfolio, managing a team of brand strategists that conceptualize, create and post content across various social platforms on a daily basis. Job Overview

The Vice President of Audience Development will play a key leadership role within FMG’s digital team developing and executing a strategy for audience growth across FMG’s digital properties. They will manage, grow and lead the audience development team while also building relationships with distribution partners, and working with FMG’s digital editors to ensure we're writing about the right things and developing strategies to grow our loyal and engaged audiences and brand. The Social Media Manager of Surface Media, reporting to the Director of Audience Development, is a key member of the Audience Development team. This role is responsible for posting content to Surface’s various social platforms, collaborating with content around editorial planning and content production, with an overall focus on growth and engagement. This person knows how to engage an audience, has an eye for powerful visuals, and understands how data informs a smart social strategy, distilling numbers into actionable insights and advocating for nothing-but-the-best social content across the organization. 

Responsibilities:

  • Maximize traffic, engagement, and growth potential across all platforms, particularly on Instagram 
  • Manage an active social media posting calendar
  • Work with content, sales, events and creative departments to ensure that social strategy is baked into every part of the editorial process, and secure exclusive content for social channels including behind-the-scenes photos, videos, on-site coverage from live events, and tentpole activations

The Surface Account Manager will report to the Executive Director of Sales/Director of Brand Partnerships  and will be responsible for supporting the development and execution of ongoing client management that drive business for Surface Media. The role will provide the Account Manager the opportunity to work across Surface’s dynamic roster of clients including top design, fashion, timepiece, jewelry, hospitality and personality brands. There will also be entrepreneurial opportunities to contribute to Surface’s rapid growth, including business development and marketing strategy.

The ideal candidate will have at least two-four years of marketing and client management experience.  An interest in and familiarity with culture (Design, Fashion, Art) and the digital and social marketing landscape is preferred.

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Support overall management of client account(s)
  • Maintain client programs across multi media platforms including Surface Magazine, Watch Journal Magazine, Surfacemag.com, WatchJournal.com, Social outlets IG, FB, digital newsletters and events.
  • Maintain client insertion orders, contracts, creative materials and calendars via HubSpot software.
  • Collaborate with the design and editorial departments to create all collateral and materials for sales development.
  • Lead development of client campaign reporting, analytics and recap statu.s 
  • Create digital marketing campaigns to support sales units including issue themes, digital and social properties, events.
  • Produce digital decks for creative concepts & strategies for large scale programs and activations
  • Work closely with influencer partners and lead coordination of logistics for partnerships and programs.
  • Develop and sustain excellent working relationships with all clients, influencer partners, contracted vendors etc.
  • Support Surface Media leadership with various administrative duties.

About You:

  • You are detail oriented, data and deadline driven, and can easily prioritize your to-do list 
  • You have experience in working with financial spreadsheets, RFPs, client presentations
  • You are able to initiate marketing drip campaigns, utilize data to analyze client performance and provide clients with performance reporting
  • You have experience in working with CRM programs: Salesforce, MagHub or Hubspot
  • You have excellent written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Secure newsletter sponsor/advertising partners: lead prospect research and sales outreach, building client pipeline and close monthly sales targets
  • Work with Design Dispatch Editor and Surface creative team to create and schedule brand partner advertisements 
  • Track campaign results/metrics and report to brand partners
  • Work with the Design Dispatch Editor to evolve newsletter editorial content in ways that strengthen subscriber engagement

Requirements

  • Increase sales and drive revenue with new and existing clients for all revenue streams: digital, print, events, newsletter and social
  • Proactively prospect, qualify, and grow accounts by developing strong and profitable relationships with client and agency partners, delivering industry-leading levels of creativity and customer service

Responsibilities

Administrative:

  • Complete all tasks as requested by CEO

Position Overview


As a member of the Communications and Marketing team, the Distribution and Subscription Manager is responsible for proposing and closing deals with approved brand partners to increase magazine distribution in target markets as well as for creating and implementing successful marketing strategies to increase subscribers for all print and digital Surface Media platforms including Surface magazine, Watch Journal, e-newsletters, and other offers.


RESPONSIBILITIES


Distribution

  • Work closely with partnerships team on agreements with hospitality brands to grow in-room distribution of Surface magazine and ensure execution

  • Work closely with operations team to manage all distributors and to identify and add new distribution partners regularly

  • Track distribution closely and ensure that all marketing materials have most up-to-date information

  • Organize shipment of all extra issue requests as well as track and ensure fulfillment of paid issue orders

  • Assist in market research to inform growth strategy for Surface distribution nationwide and beyond and execute based on plans


Subscription

  • Manage, execute, and analyze all aspects of circulation including new subscriptions, renewals, complimentary subscriptions, and free-to-paid conversion programs

  • Work closely with Senior Marketing Manager on quarterly subscription goals and execute daily, weekly, monthly tactics to grow digital and print subscribers

  • Develop and execute VIP subscribers program outlining benefits and ensuring delivery

  • Manage, maintain, and communicate all circulation data as needed including a weekly report on subscriptions

  • Actively monitor retention rates and identify and execute best practices for retention

  • Maintain in-house mailing lists and coordinate with printers as needed ensuring proper data is prepared and sent on schedule

  • Identify and resolve problems related to subscription fulfillment and management

  • Coordinate subscriber-related business processes between marketing, operations, and  production vendors

  • Serve as customer support contact for all subscription issues and questions

  • Manage interns and freelance staff as needed

  • Perform all other duties as assigned


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required

  • Experience in media and/or publishing with a background in audience development/circulation management

  • Superior sales orientation with excellent follow-through and organization
